In 2005, Ms. Jess, a teacher with a background in basketball, joined IBSH in her very first year of teaching and founded the IBSH Varsity Boys Basketball Team. From that moment on, our journey began. For nearly two decades, the team has never stopped training or competing. Even during the COVID years, when the world seemed to pause, our players continued their training online. This unwavering persistence represents the first core value of our team: Hard Work. What began as a small team of just seven players has now grown into a basketball family of more than 80 students across elementary, middle, and high school—boys and girls alike. This remarkable growth has been made possible through the selfless dedication of generations of teachers and coaches who have poured their hearts into the team year after year. This shared commitment and unity represent our second core value: Teamwork. Our courts have transformed over time—from a single outdoor court without a roof, to the activity center, to a covered all-weather court, and finally to the beautiful wooden floor of our new gymnasium today. Every step of this journey reflects the school’s constant support and belief in our team. For this, we carry deep gratitude in our hearts. We vow to honor that support with our very best efforts and performance. This is our third core value: Gratitude. Hard Work. Teamwork. Gratitude. These are not just words—they are the spirit of the IBSH Varsity Boys Basketball Team. They guide every practice, every game, and every step our players take both on and off the court. And they will continue to shape future generations long after the final buzzer sounds.
